Zack Kemper Memorial Scholarship

Zachary Evan Kemper was born on October 17,1984 and his life tragically came to an end in an automobile accident on July 5, 2005. He was outstanding scholastically as well as athletically. He was a phenomenal 2-sport athlete having lettered 3 years in varsity football and 2 years in varsity baseball. There is a tree at the Stony Point Baseball field that was planted in memory of Zach and a bench with the word ‘Believe’ engraved in it that has been placed down the third base line just in front of our bullpen. In addition to that, his number 19 is the only number retired from our baseball program. Zach’s number 19 football jersey is also retired. Zach’s baseball jersey hangs in the press box behind home plate where all the players on the field can see it, home or visitor. Before his passing Zach held a full time job with Brown Distributing Company in Austin, and attended school at Austin Community College.

The Zach Kemper Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Zach’s family following the passing of Zach in 2005. The organization is dedicated to raising funds throughout the year from numerous fundraisers, special events, and of course, donations. All funds benefit a new recipient at the end of each scholastic year, providing a college scholarship for a current Stony Point Senior Baseball Player. Learn more about this scholarship opportunity.
